“Deactivate automatic reproduction of YouTube videos”

by Nick Mead

If you're a big YouTube fan, then you'll definitely appreciate this plugin. I'm always opening multiple windows and it is annoying when the videos all start at once and the sounds all clash.
Originally, the plugin only worked on the YouTube site but it has now been updated to work on all sites that have YouTube videos embedded.

This extension works with Firefox 1.5 - 2.0.0.*, the latest Flock builds, and Netscape Navigator 9.0. If you're always working with multiple tabs in Firefox, it's particularly useful because you can open several videos at once at play them at your leisure rather than worry about them all going off together and possibly crashing the browser.

In summary, a simple plugin that YouTube fans will wish had been invented a long time ago.

From the publisher of TubeStop

TubeStop is an extension for Mozilla-based Web browsers that disables the autoplay on YouTube videos.

This means that you can open multiple YouTube videos in tabs in the background without them all starting to play at once.
